Hilldales is a residential care home with 56 bedrooms, offering care and support for residents aged 25 and over with Mental health conditions, Substance misuse problems, Dementia, Physical disabilities and sensory impairments. 

We are situated in the beautiful seaside town of Ilfracombe in North Devon over looking our outstanding coast.

Our care home provides a safe and homely environment for all residents offering a range of daily activities and our bedrooms are single with hand-wash basins in all rooms. There are shared bathrooms on every floor and three wet rooms located on the ground floor.

We also encourage our residents to bring their own furniture if they wish to provide a home from home feeling throughout.

The home was four Victorian buildings converted into one beautiful home with some of the fixtures still remaining. We have 13 bedrooms on the ground floor, 25 on the first floor and 18 on the second floor and we have a stair lift currently in operation to reach the first floor on one side of the home.

We also provide Respite care and private care for those who would like a short break whether for a day, week or even months.

We pride ourselves on our four weekly menus using local sourced ingredients, from the farms and butchers located in North Devon.

Our two chefs cook meals on a daily basis always giving choices and catering for those who have special dietary requirements.

Clergy, Chiropodists, Opticians, Doctors and Community Nurses visit on a regular basis.

We provide a range of activities for our residents ranging from shopping trips, art lessons, board games, outside entertainment, bingo, card games and movie days however we do respect each residents individual rights therefore it is up to each person to decide whether they would like to participate.

The ethos of our care home is to help each resident lead a happy, dignified life and to remain as independent as possible in a safe environment.

Our care home is an open and welcoming place to live for all people of all backgrounds and walks of life, in which we strive to preserve individuality and privacy of all our residents at all times.

Hilldales also provides a designated smoking room for our residents as well as two areas for their refreshments such as tea and coffee throughout the day.
